National Solid Waste Association of India as an ENVIS centre for Urban Municipal Solid Waste always takes initiative to create awareness in different Educational Institute.NSWAI has started promoting Solid Waste subject among the Engineering Student recognizing the significant role they can play in this Sector. In Year 2010 NSWAI addressed the Engineering Student of southern India from different University.

On Inauguration of the IV batch of the B.E./B.Tech of E.S.College of Engineering & Technology Villapuram Dr Amiya Kumar Sahu coordinator of NSWAI ENVIS and President of NSWAI addressed the Student of Engineering College as a Chief Guest.
Nine hundred and Fifty Students along with their parent were present for the Program Dr.Amiya Kumar Sahu talks on the importance of Waste Management in Engineering Education, future prospect and opportunities for the student in this field. After his address the chairman of the college invited the local municipal Chairman and concerned Engineers to discuss on Zero Garbage concept and to introduce at Villapuram to make a model town in Tamilnadu.

Dr Amiya Kumar Sahu Coordinator of NSWAI-ENVIS was invited to interact with the student of Department of Ecology and Environment Studies, Pondicherry University. He gave a presentation on Prospect of Research in Solid Waste Sector.There was a good interaction with faculty Scholars and post graduate students during his talk.
